Centera question: Can data be retreived from the replication destination cluster during an outage of the primary Centera cluster?

Hello Centera Community.

We have a Centera cluster in our primary datacenter which replicates to a Centera cluster in our disaster recovery (DR) site.  It's one-way replication from the primary site to the DR site.  The primary Centera cluster will be powered down for a two hour period while the Centera cabinet is repositioned in the datacenter.

The question is:  While the primary Centera is down, can data be read from the DR Centera?  The nodes of the DR Centera have the same Node Roles (access, replication, management, storage) as the primary Centera nodes.  During the outage window could we simply substitute the IP addresses of the DR nodes for the regular IP addresses of the primary nodes?  Or is there a more elegant way to do this?

No data will be written to the DR Centera during the primary Centera outage window.  Data will only be read/retreived.

Thank you.  It seems like a silly question, but usually the Centera just sits in the corner and does its work.  I never need to think about it!

Possible yes, depends on the application and how it is setup. What version C*, what is you application writing to Centera, and do your application have the ability to connect to the DR site without a failover?

Hello @JimP,

yes it's possible however it is set from the application side, you have to manually move to the DR Centera. Centera don't do it by itself.
