Centera Migration

I have a customer that wants to migrate data from old nodes to new nodes in the same cluster.

They have 4 full cubes and do not want to add another cube/rack because of space in the server room.

Is there a way to do this?

Is it possible to migrate the data from the old nodes to the nodes that have available space left.

Or do we have to add the new nodes as cube 5 and then use Centera Intra-Cluster Migration to migrate cube 1 to cube 5?

If this is the only way, could we then remove cube 1 and move cube 5 to where cube 1 is suppose to be?

And if we want to do it online would it work if we move 1 switch over and then move 1 and 1 node over?

Hi

If you have enough available capacity in one of the cubes you should be able to migrate using inter cluster migration from cube 1 to cube 3 or 4, then replace the nodes in cube 1 with new nodes and continue the migration for cube 2 to the new cube 1.

If there isn't enough available capacity you'll need to add a new cube.
