bringing only primary cluster down
Hi everyone!
I would like to know if i can shut down my source centera box while bringing the data centre on main power. This past weekend we had DC shut down and all gears were brought on UPS. Now, we need to bring it back on main power coming week end.
I just had all the replication paused ( we 're having bidirectional replication) , and shut the primary and target cluster , using >shutdown.
The target cluster is located in a different location in Dallas, outage is in other location( in Dallas) , and this is where my primary cluster is .
My question is can i bring just the primary cluster down and then bring it up with actually havinf to shut down the target which is at a remote location?
Please advise, and let me know what could be the implication if i don't

You can shutdown just the primary cluster if you have replicaiton paused from both sides. This is perfectly legal and supported. Once the primary cluster is back online, you can resume replication on both sides.
