Unable to manage cifs server
Hello,
I have a cifs server that I cannot manage from MMC. When connecting, I immediately get "Access Denied". I also cannot connect to the registry. After checking the VDM's log, I am getting errors that the registry initialization did not complete due to a bad path for event logs. I'm assuming a typo was made. This seems to be the likely cause of my problems to me. Is that a fair assessment?
Is there a way for me to edit the VDM's registry settings from the VNX command line to correct this problem?

no there isnt as a customer command
I would suggest to open a service reqeust and ask support to fix it via dialin
Are you really sure it isnt the "regular" security context issue ?
Connect to C$ with explorer.exe
than while explorer is still open use mmc
this way you make sure that
a) the account think is used has admin privileges - otherwise you wouldnt be allowed to access C$
b) mmc uses this security context since all CIFS request to a particular CIFS server share the same

Yes, I have already tried that. Support dial in would be tricky, this is on an air gapped network in a room with no phones allowed. I'll put in a request and see what can be done, then.
