How Does VxRail Support APEX?

For the sake of clarity we want to distinguish what APEX so we can better understand how VxRail actually supports our APEX strategy.

For clarification, APEX is a portfolio of Dell Technologies as-a-Service offerings that simplify digital transformation by increasing IT agility and control. Customers’ focus on three factors drives our APEX strategy

  • Attention more on outcomes and less on products
  • Need for simplicity
  • How they choose to deliver IT for their businesses

By providing rapid delivery, self-service and subscription services, APEX gives the customer control of those three factors.

As a rapid-delivery compute platform for virtual machines and containers, VxRail is the main core for two of the three APEX compute offerings: Private Cloud and Hybrid Cloud. Because VxRail works so well with APEX, it appears that what one needs to know about the compute side of APEX corresponds to what one needs to know about VxRail.

As he details what VxRail delivers to the Private Cloud and Hybrid Cloud offerings, Doug willingly agrees that it’s a marriage made in heaven.  The Private Cloud offering allows the customer to choose basic variations of VxRail nodes and site assignments. The benefits here are the speed and simplicity with which customers choose to provide IT to their business. The Hybrid Cloud offers VxRail with VMware software to serve a software-designed data center. The beauty here is the ease of movement of virtual machines between on-site and off-site configurations to handle peaks and valleys of data demand.

Tune in to our Listen & Learn podcast in which Doug makes clear how VxRail plays a key role in APEX’s delivery of a simple, seamless experience that enables customers to manage their entire cloud and the as-a-service journey.
