The best way to turn on/off Dell blades ?
Hi,
I have a few blades(can't remember model) but they have a DRAC card, so I can remotely connect via telnet and turn them on.
They are all running windows server 2008 and joined to a domain so I also can turn them off with the shutdown command and force them to shutdown.
So ... what am I seeking ... I want to monitor them .... and turn them on if they are needed ... or else turn them off if they are all idle to save some energy.
What are the best way ? I'm working in .NET, but I can't seem to find any good Telnet Apps written for .NET. Does Dell supply any tools I have overlooked ?
Thinking making a windows service ... running the different takst ... to monitor the servers load.
But the turn on/off is my biggest concern ... any one got some good ideas here ?
