MX7000 PTM Pass Thru Module
I am using a PTM for the first time on this MX7000 with 1 blade in slot 1. The blade has 2 mezz cards (51G0W) and is loaded with ESXi 8.0. All I am trying to do is establish a connection from the PTM to the mezz card in order to access access the ESXi GUI. I have a ethernet cable from port 1 on the PTM to my switch. The NIC were originally set to NPar, I changed it to RDMA and still unable to get a IP for ESXi.
Everything is updated.
I must be missing something, is there a setting on the NIC I need to change to get a connection on the pass thru module?

Hello thanks for choosing Dell. I don't recall MX7000 supporting pass thru module. What is in the slot A1, A2 and A3 in the back, can you tell us?

the part number for the module is PJPWW. Dell shows it as a 10GBASE-T PTM for MX. This is the only module in the system, installed in A1.

Looks like the 51G0W card allows a 10 Gbps link speed in BIOS. I set it to 10G. So with the 25GbE mezz card being set to 10G for the PTM, can the PTM connect to a 1GbE switch? or do I need a 10GbE switch?

Hi I am facing close issue. I have MX7000 with PowerEdge MX 25GbE PTM and I am not able to setup the way doc explains. Please advise. Thanks

TheMattHatter_17f8db,
I believe it will connect, but it will slow the traffic, so that may help you decide.
