M1000e switches don't respond through CMC.

Hey folks,

My CMC is behaving a little oddly. We've recently reconfigured switches in one of our M1000e, and were making some minor changes just to apply labels to ports.

Mid session, the CMC session kicked the engineer out, and we now can't get into ANY of the six M8024-K switches in the unit.

Exciting screenshot.

Is there anything I can do remotely that will help, or do i need to send someone to site to reseat switches?

Thanks!

Max

In that case reseating the switches is probably the best option. You could also try failing over to the other CMC if you have two.

Hi,

What firmware version is the CMC and switches on? Will it let you access the switches by ip address not through the cmc?

Hi Josh,

The CMC is at 6.10.

Four switches are at 5.1.13.1, the remaining two are at 5.0.0.4.

I can telnet to the switches, but I haven't set up AAA so can't authenticate to do anything useful.

Minor edit: not sure if it's significant, but two old blades that are in the chassis are not showing up in CMC, though they're working normally and the iDRAC can be accessed.

Many thanks,

Max
