M1000e - Ethernet Passthrough with ESX 4

I have a DELL M1000e Blade environment with M610 and M710 servers. All running ESX 4.

Fabric A1: M6220 (User LAN Segment)

Fabric A2: None

Fabric B1: Ethernet Passthrough (iSCSI to DELL Equallogic SAN PS5000e)

Fabric B2: Ethernet Passthrough (iSCSI to DELL Equallogic SAN PS5000e)

All the blade servers on ESX see the A1 and A2 as vmnic0 & vmnic1. As i understand, this is the M6220. The issue is that none of the blades see the Ethernet Passthroughs that are connected to a Cisco 2970 Switch. Shouldnt B1 & B2 show up on vmnic2 & vmnic3? This doesn't show on the ESX side.

Any body with experience with this would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I found the answer to my question. Apparently my M610s can only see 2 NICs. So my next question is, can i assign first nic to Fabric A1 and 2nd nic to Fabric B1? If so, how?

In order for those M610's to have connectivity to fabrics B and C you need to add mezzanine adapters to the appropriate fabrics. If you take the lid off your M610 you'll see these in the back side of the server.

Without mezzanine adapters, vmnic0 = fabric A1, vmnic1 = fabric A2.
If you add a mezzanine adapter to the B slot, vmnic2 = B1, vmnic3 = fabric B2.
