m1000e CMC is unresponsive, servers not coming back up after restart

Suddenly CMC (6.1) and idrac are not accessible (ip/serial). They were working fine a few days ago.

- Active CMC network port is down, serial interface shows blank, no activity is shown even after key press

- if I pull the active one, it fails over to secondary (blue LED comes up). The network port blinks a few time, then it shuts down, no response from serial port either

- cannot power up server modules after I perform restart; the power button keep blinking after it is pressed.

- servers' idrac are not accessible anymore, although I can reach them using their 10gbe IPs.

Already opened ticket, but support seems to be not much help till on-site engineer arrives on Tuesday. Is there any tip the community can give on how this catastrophic scenario could have occurred. Strange thing is, no front or back panel warning LED is lit up. Everything is nice blue/green.

Hi,
  1. Check if it pings properly with CMC's management IP.
  2. Unplug (remove) Active CMC module to see if it pings Standby CMC. From CMC fail over to booting, it takes about 5 mins, also this is when all the chassis' FAN speed are running on maximum. ( This is normal because this is what happens when CMC fails to manage chassis management. )
I could also recommend connecting a laptop directly to Standby CMC. Hope this helps.
