Help with a Dell Powerconnect M8428-k switch.

Can you please point me to someone who can answer a few question about the M8428-k Converged 10GbE Switch Module in the Dell M1000e Chassis.
Like, where can I get hard supported matrix for this switch ie: what SFP+ modules is support in it and what Converged Network Adapter (CNA) could be used with this switch. Cannot find related doc’s on Dell website. Currently we got Dell FTLX8571D3BCL SFP+ Modules plug into the external TE ports and get “Incompatible SFP for interface ExTengigabitEthernet detected” in the switch event logs. This was the SFP's that was shipped to us by Dell.

Right got the correct part number for needed SFP's. This was provided by Dell Tech support Engineer after logging a call with them.
For the 8 x Converged 10Gb Ethernet External ports you’ll need Brocade 10Gb/s SFP+ Part No: 3H3XY.
The 4 x FC 8Gb/s ports at the bottom they are using the Dell Part Number: K441G which is Brocade FC8 8G Short Wave SFP+.
They say this switch only work with Brocade and end to end.

Hi,

Some addon since i nad big trouble getting the information.

If you did like to use Cisco top of the rack switches like nexus 5k series and want to connect dell m1000e to it via twinax cable you need to use brocade ACTIVE sfp+ cable.

Whether Dell nor Cisco cable will work here! Don't believe dell if they say other. I tested it my self.

Best Regards

Alexander
