DEll M620 PCIe NVME drive
Hi I have gotten a pair of second hand Dell VRTX's each with 1 x M630 and 3 x M620 and want to know if I can use a PCIe NVME drive on them.
I read in some posts that unless you ordered the system with PCIe SSDs then you will not be able to use PCIe SSDs in the system. If that is the case is there a way to check to see if any of these will work it PCIe NVME drives

Both M620 and M630 support PCIe SSD drives provided server having a PCIE SSD supported backplane. Can you share the part# of backplane you have currently on the server so that I can confirm whether that backplane support PCIe SSD drives.

RWV1C (ASSY,PWA,BKPLN,SAS,M620/M520) backplane only support SAS drives. You need to have backplane with below part# to support NVMe drives
217FX - ASSY,PWA,BKPLN,SSD,PCIE,M620

Hi Shine,
I believe these are the part numbers
M620's
Service Tag: [Removed by Moderator] ; Part no. CN-0rwv1c-70163-3b6-01f0-a00
Service Tag: [Removed by Moderator] ; Part no. CN-0rwv1c-70163-39q-021d-a00
Service Tag: [Removed by Moderator] ; Part no. CN-0rwv1c-70141-39q-004e-a00
I can't see a part no. for the M630 but I can give a service tag: [Removed by Moderator]
They all have a PCIe sticker on the chassis of them so I am hopeful they do have the correct backplane.
