Best practice for carving up the storage on 4000

I have 3 new PS4000's and have not started carving up the space yet, i had a Dell rep (Scott) come by and go over it with us but when i try to remember all that was said i am coming up short. Any documentation on the best methods for blocking out space and where to use fast disks would be great.
