How to force Avamar proxy to use the Hot Add Proxy on the same host as the VM

I'm having problems during the removal of the snapshot process of a VM that's being backup using Hotadd on a proxy on a different Host than the VM that is backed up.  The shared datastore is an NFS 3 version, specifically a SimpliVity Omnicstack storage solution.  The VM disconnects from the network during the snapshot removal and becomes unresponsive. 

If I can force the Avamar proxy to use the Hot Add Proxy on the same host as the VM, removing the snapshot will operate quickly and not cause the 2min lock that I'm seeing now.
