Dell D5 5587 upgrade from SATA HDD to SATA SSD ( 2nd storage drive )

Hi.

I am new to this forum.  I have just bought a second hand D5 5587 and want to swap in an SSD ( Crucial SSD ).

I have upgraded several laptops over the years from spinning HDD to SSD to give a performance boost without issue.  I have fitted the SSD to my D5 5587 and it is not showing in BIOS or disc manager.  Any suggestions?  It is running the latest BIOS and all drivers seem to be up to date. I returned the old spinning HDD and that works so have not damaged the cable!  Do Dell block upgrades?
