Avamar SQL - Controlling CTL timeout when running backup on secondary node

I'm having issue where it seems like CTL traffic is intermittently not being passed between primary and secondary nodes when running TLOG availability group backups against a secondary replica; although backup is being completed the status is not being reported correctly to Avamar (reported as failure - as a result of the CTL traffic not being received).

I know there is a CTL timeout switch that can be used for Hyper-V VSS backups; does the same apply for AVSQL?
