Avamar Administrator vs Web AUI

Hi I am a new Avamar admin I'm teaching myself how to use the product. I have prior experience with NetWorker.

I have access to AIU it's a nice interface! I was curious if there is a fundamental difference between administrator and AUI are there any administrative functions that can only be done via administrator that would compel me to install and use it?

There is some maintenance that needs to be done, I have not opened an SR yet but I was wondering if support prefers working on administrator or cli as opposed to AUI.

Thank you!

Depending on the maintenance type, neither interface may be necessary, but it's CLI every time. Dell support should be able to do everything else via AUI. Keep in mind that according to Dell, Avamar Administrator is deprecated and will be removed from future Avamar versions.

Both AUI and Administrator still have features that are exclusive to them.

Only from AUI you can access the Fitness Analyzer or install security patches to proxies.

On the other hand AUI is (usually) slower to use and more unwieldy, in e.g. checking recent logs, and finding backups by date or type isn't implemented. All lists in AUI (clients, backups, datasets, etc) would benefit a lot if the output was more condensed - there's way too much space between lines. I get many times more information in my 1440p display when using Administrator.

I personally still like to use Administrator due to the usability issues. (Avamar 19.8)
