SRDF Failover and split

Hi,

I have a requirement to make R2 enable (by failover), we will insert data in R2 and that we will update to the R1 by "symrdf update command".

My SRDF group status will be as below.

R1=WD (because it is in failover mode)

R2=RW

I want to check changes (updated data from R2 to R1) on R1 whether its Working or not. i dont want to do failback because i have to check this multiple time.  can somebody please suggest me best option. will SPLIT work if group is in failover mode?
