x17 R2, not connecting to display

Alienware x17 R2

Alienware x17 R2

2 year old x17 R2, has had similar issues in the past. About a month ago the motherboard blew and I installed a new one. Currently it works completely fine when connected with an HDMI cable to an external monitor, but it won't connect to its own display (2 red, 7 blue error code, won't boot without external monitor). The display it had when the motherboard blew was new. I ordered and installed a new display - same error. The motherboard's eDP port is fine, and the cables of the 2 displays fit into it normally, with no damage or straining on either cable. When checking on the external monitor, it doesn't detect either display. Looking for ideas as to what could be going on.

Indicator 2 red 7 blue alternating flashing, indicating that the display fault or the display line is not connected properly, if you use the EDP interface to connect to the external display can display normally, you must check the laptop display and screen line!

Display cables failing internally is by far the most common cause of this. They can look 100% perfect externally, but there's so many tiny conductors inside the sheathing that they're very prone to failing over time with cycles of moving the display. Try a new display cable; I seriously hope you didn't replace the Mobo and Screen before replacing the cable..

If you're sure everything is connected right and the cables are fully seated properly, I'd bet it's a failed cable 99% of the time.

@Mike1788 Mobo was replaced because it fried, computer was fully dead with no lights/fans or response under any circumstances. The replacement screen (with a new display cable) was brand new, but, I'll try another display cable.
