Alienware X51 R2 - how to add a SSD
Hi,
I am curious how to add my SATA III 240GB SSD to my new Alienware X51 R2. Inside there is only one Molex 4 pin power connector which is already split between the DVD-ROM and the SATA 1TB HDD. I need to split it three ways - adding a SATA power connector for the SSD.
How do i do this?

Hi,
I visited TigerDirect today and bought a bunch of splitters - Molex to SATA and plugged these together and got all the connectors merged together. Problem solved. Used Double-sided tape and stuck the SSD to the chassis above the DVD-ROM.
The BIOS auto-detected the SSD and I formatted it inside Device Manager. Now I will work towards migrating Windows 8.1 to the SSD....wish me luck.
