When Do Alienware Aurora R16 get up to date NVidia drivers? and why do the official ones from nvidia website do not always work for games?

Alienware Aurora R16

Alienware Aurora R16

When Do Alienware Aurora R16 get up to date NVidia drivers? and why do the official ones from NVidia website do not always work for games? can you explain I had tried using an official NVidia driver, I ended up going back to the OEM one because one game had this error in it.

are the OEM NVidia drivers for this system, based on GeForce Game Ready Driver - WHQL

, or its NVIDIA Studio Driver - WHQL

as of today the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER on the offical website driver version is 560.70 - Release Date: Tue Jul 16, 2024 but our OEM driver version is 552.41 and I do not see any OEM version of 560.70 yet, does it take them awhile to update the drivers like do they do a look of video game testing before they Release their OEM driver?

can anyone tell me extactly how are the OEM drivers different than the official driver, can the offical drivers just get a patch for the
Alienware Aurora R16 Service Tag:GQSF*** and Support Serices Premium= Expires JUL 24, 2025.

is that all they do patch them then send an update to SupportAssist app or website Driver and Downloads page to download and install them?

what is the process to update them on our pc's if anyone can explain it?

has anyone tried the offical NVIDIA Studio Driver is that driver more stable for the Dell's Nvidia RTX 4080 Super than the gaming driver they have, which driver is better to use if and when they stop updating the OEM drivers? again I don't know the time frame in which they release new nvidia drivers to their Drivers and Download page, but

the current version on nvidia website been out since Tue Jul 16, 2024

and this version OEM driver was released on 07 Jun 2024.

"IDXGISwapChain::ResizeBuffers: due to removed device" Directx 12  "Control Ultimate Edition" in GogGalaxy of Nvidia 556.12

that version 556.12 when I tried to upgrade it from the OEM one this one game had broken, I don't recall how many games were unplayable in Directx 12 mode, beside that one, I might try again since a newer version been released but I am guessing I might have to roll the driver back to the OEM version if either the gaming or studio drivers work.

Tomb Raider Game of the Year crashed again with the OEM nvidia driver, I am not sure if its really the processor causing the problem or the graphics settings, since I tried Ultimate quality, I am now running it on Ultra Quality instead to see if its more stable as that, I really don't want to mess with bios 2.8.0 settings unless something in that needs to be disabled to make games more stable, otherwise I plan on keeping the bios settings untouched on this desktop since windows itself is stable and so is the edge browser. I did upgrade Alienware command center to the 6.x version from the version it had on it which was older that the desktop had come with but that should not cause a video game to crash, I think. no blue screens of death and the hardware tests all pass as I wrote in my older posts here.
Feedback hub, I tried to report the crash, but the second time I loaded my save from the game and go to the same item, of course the game did not crash while I was reporting a feedback hub recording of it, so it seems to be random game crash, and this time tomb raider game had no error, it just quit the game right to the Windows 11 desktop.

https://aka.ms/AArk59n

so was getting item in game, and it just crashed without any message on my Alienware Aurora R16 pc, NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super, I had setup graphics at max values. The game had crashed when I got 6 of 10 Ancient Scrolls found, Hoshi: at her side my pc has Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KF   3.20 GHz processor, I don't know if the crash was random or not, since the second time I went to get the item in game it did not crash, I stop the recording at this point, since this was were it just crashed right out of the game. Bios I have upgraded to 2.8.0 as it was released, I don't know if the next bios update will make it more stable the windows and edge seems stable no crashing outside of any video game. and SupportAssist hardware has all passed marks on it. and OEM nvidia drivers are up to date.

For maximum stability use the Nvidia studio driver, as that one has been validated by Nvidia for stability.

If you want the latest game support, use the latest Nvidia WHQL driver.

If you want to stick with OEM, use the OEM driver which has been validated by Dell to be stable for the R16 and age wise will be somewhere in the middle between Studio and latest WHQL driver.

All the drivers originate from Nvidia.

As mentioned before, the R16 has crashing issues based on the many threads about it on this forum. Your crashes might have absolutely nothing to do with the Nvidia driver, or it could be a bug in the game.

ok, thanks, when you say install the latest Nvidia driver, do you do a clean install and reset system values during the install or do you uninstall the oem drivers then switch to the official ones, which is the best method of installing them when your system had OEM NVidia drivers on it. Also I was going to try Get Help Now chat, but it said that no one was available that we are out of the time period, since I am from California, I guess chat is not available at 5:12 pm or a bit before it, I just finished diner at home. and I had tried to use the website chat, but I didn't get any support people at around this time.

"IDXGISwapChain::ResizeBuffers: due to removed device" Directx 12  "Control Ultimate Edition" in GogGalaxy of Nvidia 556.12 driver it was the gaming driver I tried, I didn't try their studio driver but I have since downloaded both of the nvidia drivers for 560.70

I have not tried my death standing, I don't recall if I launched it with the OEM driver or the official one, when I had gotten this error before that I posted about.

it happened during the game beginning video clip it plays it had crashed at that time with that message when I ran it from Alien Command Center launch it there instead of epic games launcher, was running in the task bar anyway since its installed with epic games launcher. the second time I play this game I did not get the crash message, for the Death stranding video game. But I think I was using the OEM NVidia driver for this desktop at the time of its crash and not the official driver, I don't know if the studio driver will make this game more stable or not yet. it crashed right before he hits the girl with the umbrella with his bike in the beginning of the time, I also had the graphics set to max and in 4k at the time of the crash, my monitor is 4k and the NVidia RTX 4080 Super should be able to handle it.

Installing the driver package is all that should be required. I always ran the Nvidia WHQL drivers on my R10 without any issues.

While you could use DDU to uninstall the old driver and reinstall the new one, it's not recommended unless you know exactly what you are doing.

So far, the Studio drivers are working fine from NVidia website and installed Nvidia App again. not sure what caused the crash on control video game from Gog galaxy with the official driver it might have been fixed in the current build, I am playing my tomb raider game and so far, no crashing of any sort. I have 560.70-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql.exe and NVIDIA_app_beta_v10.0.0.535.exe installed there been no crash message this time at all, which is good, but I haven't play for that long but so far, no random crashing or error game message at all, I hope that fixes my gaming problems. Thanks for your help, I stick with studio drivers, I don't own most of the newer titles that the gaming driver is supporting yet, so I am stick with the studio driver if it keeps games from doing bad stuff.

the second SSD drive it sees is my external hard drive that plugs into the USB-C port, I am using one of the two ports on my back of my pc for that, the Nvidia App doesn't seem to have much detail, just that both of them are SSD drives.
