Aurora R7, support assist, reinstall new drive

Hello,

Well after a long year I upgraded to a SSD and have been slowly attempting to get all the oem stuff to work. My latest is trying to get support assist to work. It just freezes after it downloads the start up files. I managed to get all the other files and transfer command center but it doesnt even open from the old drive. Anyone know how to get support assist on a new drive R7?

I had a similar problem last week.  I went here (below link) and clicked the button to search for the latest updates for your PC.  It then told me that I need to update my version of support assist, and to click OK to install.  After that, I was back up and running.

I tried redownloading it on that link and I get the same message. Download support assist (since it doesnt detect I have it. And I dont on that drive, it's on the hdd which is still plugged in and has windows and the original oem bloatware). So essentially I need to find where I can download like the support CD or something. Essentially something that has all the original stuff that comes preloaded when you buy it. And honestly at this point the only thing I care about is getting the fx to work since its stuck on rainbow and is annoying. It shouldn't be this difficult, I recently built a ryzen rig and Asus aura is as simple as downloading it. With alienware it seems to revolve around support assist.

Using the link I posted earlier, after you see the popup box that says you need support assist, the download now button is the blue button on the bottom left of the box (see photo).  If it doesn't auto install, you can then go to your downloads folder and manually click on the support assist installation file.

After installation, Support Assist will automatically download everything else you need (and stuff you don't) unless you manually opt out of automatic updates.  Copying and pasting system files between your c: and other drives will not work.  You need to either do a fresh install or clone your old drive. You also need to completely uninstall your existing support assist.  You can use revo to do this.

After I moved to a new SSD and got everything running, I completely reformatted my old boot drive.

Forgot to mention, for FX, you just need to install AWCC.  AWCC and support assist are two separate programs on an R7.  You don't need one to get the other. You can get AWCC here:
