To fix a sideways screen on your laptop, follow these steps:

  1. Keyboard Shortcut:

    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow to rotate the screen back to its normal orientation.
    • If this doesn't work, try Ctrl + Alt + Left ArrowCtrl + Alt + Right Arrow, or Ctrl + Alt + Down Arrow to see if any of these shortcuts correct the orientation.

  2. Display Settings:

    • Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
    • Scroll down to the Orientation section.
    • Select Landscape from the drop-down menu.
    • Click Apply and then Keep changes.

  3. Graphics Control Panel:

    • Right-click on your desktop and select your graphics control panel (e.g., Intel Graphics Settings, NVIDIA Control Panel, AMD Radeon Settings).
    • Look for the display or screen rotation settings.
    • Set the orientation to Landscape or Normal.

To make sure it does not happen again, follow these steps:

Right click on your desktop, choose graphic properties...

Look for Display Settings, and then look for a checked box that says Enable Rotation. Uncheck that box.

By disabling rotation, you take away the chance of this mistakenly happening in the future.

Note: The steps may be different for different computers and graphics cards, but the key is to disable rotation.
