Aurora R16, JBL Headphone w/mic

Aurora R16

I just got JBL Quantum 100 headset, and when i connected it to my PC, the sound is okay but the mic is not working at all. The microphone can be separated from the headset but can  only be plugged into the headset itself.

When I plug in the headset to the front combo headphone/mic port there's no pop-up window asking me what kind of device is connected, it immediately lists it as "Realtek High Definition Audio headphones in the control panel. I can't open Realtek HD Audio Manager. I tried solutions for this as well, still it's like the program doesn't exist on my PC.

The Jbl pin is trrs with red stripes.

The headphones are not muted just in case you are considering and I have had the mic working with my xbox controller.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Where did you plug it into?

It does not say on the R16 spec page what the configuration of the front port is. It sounds like 4 pole from the description. The headset should be 4 pole also.

Try looking here.

And here.

@Vanadiel

Thanks so much for these links !

As you probably noticed the first was  a post from someone having the same issue, I couldn’t find a solution at this site so basically just cut and pasted the same question to other forums.

I will go through the other link and execute the steps recommended, fingers crossed.

The jack is a TRRS which I’m assuming designates it a 4 pole.

The R16 is fairly new so I would also assume the combo port is 4 pole.

Thanks  again !
