Accessing password protected folder in a parallel install of Windows XP, from the other installation.

I had to do a parallel installation of Windows XP after my original installation was corrupt, and nothing else would work.  I am trying to save pictures that are on the computer in a password protected folder under the original XP Installation C:\WINDOWS.  How do I use the password to access the file when I can't log into the original XP, not even in any kind of safemode.  I do already have access to the other files that were not password protected when I log into C:\WIN.  Can I remove the password from the command prompt by logging back into the original WINDOWS from the command prompt in WIN?

Also, do I have to reinstall all the other software that is already installed on the computer all over again, in the new Windows?

I hope this was not too confusing.

Thanks!

Christine
