"wireless capability is turned off"

Hello!

I have a smiliar problem as many others when my wireless all of a sudden stoped working.

In my networks connection it says that it is not connected even thought i try to disable and then enable the device nothing changes.

I have used some tips from other threads and have for example unchecked the save battery option of turning of the device in device manager, restarted the computer but its still not working.

Its a inspiron 15 3520 and its running in desktop mode

The repair option that my computer gives me is obviousely not working and here is what the network diagnose says:

Hi katla,

Glad to know that the wireless has started working. However, based on the diagnostics posted by you, the issue was with wireless radio being turned off. For this issue in future, you may turn on wireless radio by pressing Fn + F2 button on keyboard. If it does not work, you may also try pressing F2 button alone or press Windows + X button on keyboard and you will find the options in Windows Mobility Center.

Please reply if you have any further questions. I would be glad to help you.

I am having the exact same problem with my Dell Inspiron Mini 10.

When I boot into Windows 7 Starter  no internet connection is available. Ran the Intel ProTools diagnosis and Failed: Radio is Off.

So I went to Network and Sharing Center and chose to Troubleshoot the problem. Just like Katla above, it found the problem. Wireless Capability was turned off so I clicked the Fit It button and the radio was turned on and I could see my wireless networks.  Thing is if I hit F2 that always says that my Wifi is Enabled. So something isn't communicating correctly.

Then if I reboot the computer or turn it off and turn it on some time later the radio is off again and I have to do that same Fix yet again.

Is there anyway to get the radio to stay on permanently?

And again like Katla, I've been reading about this issue all over the internet with really no permanent fixes. There has to be a problem with the drivers dell is providing or something.

Hi Katla:

I have the Inspiron 3520 with Windows 8. Now less than a month past warranty, the wifi is no longer working. I have already tried pressing Fn + F2, F2 alone, and Windows + X, none of these options work to turn "ON" the wifi. What should I do?

Thanks,

I tried various methods above with fail. The only solution my laptop responded to was simultaneously pressing the shift windows print screen keys. Hope this helps anyone still experiencing connectivity issues.

Dell Inspiron 5570. Same issue. The F2 or FUNCTION F2 or Mobility Center didn't help. My laptop is still under warranty but Dell is saying this is not a hardware problem. Please help
