HDMI PC to VGA monitor connection
My new Inspiron PC has 1x VGA + 1 x HDMI output and I want to connect to two monitors, each with a VGA connector - how do I do that? Thanks

We need more information.
Is the VGA and HDMI combined onto one video card or is one on the video card and one on the motherboard? What specific PC model and video card?

Its a brand new Inspiron 546 with a ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics display adpater

The video card has both DVI and HDMI. The Desktop has an HDMI port but it is turned off because the video card is installed. So to connect two VGA monitors to the video card, you will need a DVI to VGA adapter for monitor 1, and an HDMI to VGA converter for monitor 2.

I tried a HDMI to VGA concertor cable (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2M-HDMI-Male-SVGA-VGA-M-Converter-A-V-Cable-Lead-2-M-/250591194691?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item3a58662e43) but it did'nt work.
Accept this is different to one you linked in your reply but that says "System Requirements...An adapter box to convert the VGA signals to HDMI in the first place" but it looked the same.

So monitor 1 has a VGA input; do I still need a DVI to VGA adapter for this? i.e. PC out is VGA, this goes to VGA to DVI adapter, this goes to DVI to VGA cable to monitor?

Since the video card is installed, you cannot use any of the PC video outs. They are disabled.

Sorry for being a bit slow on this one but I did'nt understand that last post.
Basically my problem is this:
Monitor 1 is connected to VGA out on PC = works fine, standard VGA cable
Monitor 2 is connected to HDMI out on PC with the following cable http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250591194691&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT but does'nt work
What can I do to make monitor 2 work?
