always sleeps when lid closed on laptop on dock
I have an Inspiron 3542 laptop and Dell Superspeed 3.0 Docking Station.
When the laptop is connected to the dock and operating through the external display I cannot close the laptop lid without the system going to sleep.
I have set the 'Power Options' to ''Do Nothing' when I close the lid when plugged in to AC and re-booted but it continues to sleep as soon as the lid is closed.
What are the correct settings to run the laptop through this docking station to an external display with the lid closed?
Thanks in advance

Did you tried setting ''Do Nothing' on both AC and battery settings?

Maybe sensor in lid is broken. Have you tried flashing newest BIOS? Maybe its fixed bug. Also do you have all drivers installed? If flashing BIOS and drivers wont help i suggest contacting some Dell technician if your laptop is still under warranty.
