XPS M1530 HELP PLEASE

Hi,
I purchased my XPS M1530 in December. I am leaving for Mexico next week and wanted to bring it with me. I checked with my timeshare and they do not have wireless internet there. My question is can I hook the computer up to a phone line? I didn't want to take the computer with me if I can't use it.
 
I have Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN installed but I don't think that it will help me.
 
Please advise.

NO...i don't think the M1530's are equiped with a phone modem. there's an external mini USB modem available tho.

Dell supply a free USB modem with the m1530 (check your packaging).

I think with the 1330 you have to request it but it comes as standard with the 1530 - might want to check your order.

really? cuz mine didn't come with it. when i was configuring my M1530, there was an option if i want to add a usb modem for $20.

Might of been an offer only available in my region then as it was listed as free with XPS 1330 and 1530.

$20 is still cheaper than the $49 apple charge for their MacBook Air USB modem.

If you didn't order it with your laptop call up and see if you can add it. If not buy it from the Dell store - they sometimes send you discount vouchers after you buy something from them like a laptop.

Yeah we get the gigaport and free Modem in the UK but you get the option of a higher res screen and you pay much less.

Himm, I got curious about your region....
 
Also, 10/100/1000 gigaport feature in your machine specifics list caught my attention. As far as I know Gigabit ethernet is not available with XPS1530 yet. Or in the USA at least...

i got the gigaport but no modem. i live in U.S.
