Registry Errors

Hello,

DETAILS ON MY LAPTOP:

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R 5520.

A couple of months ago the hard drive failed.  I purchased a new hard drive from Dell and installed it.  I then purchased Windows 8 from Microsoft, and installed Windows 8, 64-bit (the original OS was Windows 7, 64-bit).  I have installed missing drivers, except 2 which I am still searching for (PCI Simple Comm and USB2.0).

QUESTION:

TrendMicro tech support tried to install my antivirus subscription on the new hard drive but ran into Windows errors. They ran diagnostic and it revealed "76 Registry Errors".

I am trying to avoid buying $300 laptop support tech package. Laptop is 2 years old, and I've already spent $90 on the new hard drive; the laptop brand new was $600.

Is there a free/inexpensive program I can download to find and fix those 76 Registry errors?

Thank you!

Rose

Rose,

Not a big fan of registry cleaner, some will mess a system up worse.

The registry cleaner that comes with CCleaner works nice and should help with removing them. A restart is needed, after you run it.

Hi Rick,

Thank you! This worked.

I just used the Registry Fix, and that took care of all the issues.

Thanks again!
