I have tried the solution yo suggested but it hasn't made any differences. I also have uninstalled the smartbyte but no effect after all.

Up25,

This issue can be resolved by switching your Realtek audio driver with Windows native driver (High Definition Audio Device). Follow the steps below to switch the audio driver.

    1. Go to Device Manager.

    1. Expand Sound, Video and Game controllers.

    1. Right click RealtekAudio and click Update driver.

    1. Click Browse my computer for driver software.

    1. Click Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.

  1. Select High Definition Audio Device and then Next to complete.

Also, click the link below to update your bios.

Hi, I have an xps 13, and from the right speakers there is a metal sound when playing any audio. Can you help me?

Jesse, switching to the Microsoft HD audio driver worked for me. I spent about 3 hours dealing with this until I found your post. Thanks!
