SM BUS CONTROLLER
I've a inspiron 3542 and I've got the yellow exclamation mark next to "SM Bus Controller" in my device manager. I downloaded the chipset driver and installed it but the exclamation is still there. Do I need a different driver? Tag# . Regards

Try installing this one from Intel.

If that does not work then post the hardware ID???

I have the same problem with an Inspiron 3543.but the Intel fix did not work. In my case I replaced the hard drive and did a "bare metal" install of Windows 10 Pro. At some time since that install the SM Bus Controller shows no driver. The Dell Support Assist utility has not offered a solution. Service Tag .
