This is not "fix" for the McAfee problem.

But, I would uninstall McAfee and just use the built in Windows Defender.  What I did with my Inspiron 15 5577 and my desktop.  The Windows Defender is not "intrusive" like some 3rd party AV programs.

There are some options where you can allow McAfee to make all the decisions for what is allowed or do some yourself.  You might modify one of those to see if it makes a difference.  There may also be a notifications section to always allow or some such.  I am not on one of the McAfee machines so I can't check right now.

If you find a place where you can turn off the shredder, please let me know.. ! :)

Thanks. I was eventually going to do that. I still have some "trial" period left. Just thought there might be some other novel fix out there.

I have exactly the same problem and can't figure out how to get rid of it.  If Dell is going to install junk software like Mcafee, they should be responsible for helping us get rid of the constant reminders to renew.  I hate this.

Try using the McAfee Customer Product Removal Tool (MCPR) found on this page, that is, if you want to completely remove McAfee from your computer. The built in Windows Defender will take over as your default security program once the uninstall completes.
