Inspiron 3670, compatible 802.11 AC dual band wireless adapters?

I'd prefer to swap out the stock 2.4 Ghz 802.11 b/g/n wireless adapter with a dual band adapter, rather than fill a USB port with a wireless dongle.  I just need some guidance on what wireless adapters are compatible.

Thank you!

You need an M.2 2230 combo card for WiFi and Bluetooth that supports 802.11ac.

You also need a WiFi router that supports "ac". You want to know the router's rated speeds on 2.4 and 5 GHz. You want an M.2 card that -at least- matches the router's max supported speed on each frequency.  No point paying a lot extra for a WiFi card that's too much faster than the router, unless you want to "future-proof" yourself for an eventual router upgrade.

Brand is up to you. Lots of comparison reviews of M.2 2230 WiFi cards so Google for them.

Not sure that the 3670 supports INTEL SOC

This module must be used with an Intel SoC which supports Connectivity Integration (CNVi).  consult your system builder/manufacturer support.

Intel Wireless-AC 9560, M.2 2230, 2X2 Ac+Bt, Gigabit, No Vpro

DW1707 WLAN WiFi 802.11 b/g/n + Bluetooth 4.0 NGFF Card is what is there now.

Hiya I had this problem too and did not want to buy a Wi-Fi card that was not compatible. On the dell website there is a pdf named Inspiron 3670 Setup and Specifications. On page 14, Dell lists 3 compatible cards of the M.2 2230 form factor which the Inspiron 3670 supports. The 1st cards is the DW1707, which the 3670 comes with and is 802.11b/g/n and BT 4.0

Next card is Intel 9462 1x1, which is 802.11ac and BT 5.0

3rd card is Intel 9560 2x2, which is 802.11ac and BT 5.0

Did you get the Intel 9462 or Intel 9560 to work?  I bought the 9560 but wasn't able to get the antenna wires to physically connect to it (tried at least a dozen times) so I put the DW1707 back in (connected just fine on first or second try).  Both are listed as MHF4 connectors so it seems like it should work.  I may need to try again with a little more patience.

I bought the 9560 2x2 m2 2230 wifi card  and it doesn't boot up my dell inspiron  3670 desktop  all I get is a blank screen means the monitor won't boot up when it's installed  once I remove it it boots up

@smoerke1 - Sure the card is correctly installed in the M.2 slot?

Did you try clearing BIOS to make sure it sees the new card?

  1. Power off, unplug
  2. Press/hold power button for ~15 sec
  3. Open case and remove motherboard battery (check Service Manual for details)
  4. Press/hold power button for ~30 sec
  5. Re-install the WiFi card
  6. Reinstall the battery (Time for fresh CR2032 3-volt coin cell battery? ~$2)
  7. Close up and connect mouse, monitor and keyboard
  8. Reboot

And if that doesn't help, look in BIOS setup to make sure the PC isn't attempting to boot via your new network card instead of from your boot drive.

Clear BIOS like I said above, and install the new WiFi card at #5.

If PC still doesn't boot, remove the WiFi card again. Then open BIOS setup and make sure Windows Boot Manager is first on the boot options list, and disable all options to boot from a network...

And maybe the new WiFi card is DOA...?
