Why has my computer slowed down since i bought it?
i bought a dell dem8200 during feb of this year, and i have added i think two small programs to my comp since i bought it including aol messenger and yahoo messenger, everything that came on the comp fits my needs so therefore i did not add any more programs to slow my comp. The slowness comes when im starting programs such as microsoft word, yahoo messenger,(when i first got my comp every program poped up really quick and was fast) but now everything has really slowed down, PLEASE HELP ME, what is the cause and what do i do to fix this, and no i dont have any viruses, norton keeps me up to date very well, thanks

Have you checked your Task Manager for anything unusual?

culprit was the dell enhanced keyboard. There is supposedly
a fix, but it didn't work for me. I ended up setting the service to
disable and unchecking in msconfig startup. I use the keys from
time to time, so I launch it manually and have noticed no slow down
problems as long as it is manually launched. Check your task
manager for dellmmkb and see if it is stealing your resources
as it was mine.

Dell Computer in December 2001 with the same keybaord that everyone is having problems with. What are the problems. I have not noticed one.

Hi,
I think it is the systems that have "dellmmkb".
I have the Dell Enhanced Performance USB Keyboard but no "dellmmkb"
and have had no problems.
