Can XPS720 use 2 Nvidis Geforce 8800GTX in SLI ?

Hello

I have just got a new XPS720 (Q6600-2.4Ghz) with a Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX 768MB RAM.
There are 2 cables to the card (power I gues).
If I put an extra Geforce 8800GTX in my XPS (make SLI), shall I also have 2 cables to that card?
I have looked in the kabinet, but there is no exstra cables (if I shall use it for the extra card).

It´s a SLI motherboard.

How can I make SLI ?

P.S. Sorry my english - I´m danish.  ;o))

The motherboard will physicaly support 8800GTX SLI on your system
However, assuming you have the 750W power supply you will indeed be short of the additional 2 x 6 pin PCIe power connectors.

You can either: -

1, Upgrade to the 1kW power supply for the extra PCIe connectors and add a GTX + SLI bridge.

2, Use power spiltters from your 4 way molex connectors that are located near the CD rom bays (Not my perfered method but some have done this with success) to gain the extra 2 x 6 pin PCIe power connectors from the 750W PSU and add a SLI bridge.

3, Sell your GTX and buy 2 x 8800GT/GTS with the money as they only require one PCIe power connector each (as I have) and are almost as powerfull (check my 3Dmarks06) + SLI Bridge.

I have a Flexable ASUS SLI Bridge off ebay for £5 and works fine.

To be honest unless you have a 24"+ monitor or use lots of AA/AF the extra card wont make that much difference. In 3Dmarks06 the extra card only makes about 2500 points extra for me.

The only exception is Crysis for me as I get 30-35% more FPS with both cards in on a 22" at 1680x1050.

You will have no problem with a power splitter.

I have an extra Geforce 8800GTX card.

I´ll try to find a power-splitter.

yes you will need two splitters. if possible make sure that the only thing running off of those 2, 4 pin connectors is the graphics card (I believe the cd roms and hard drives run of SATA power cables)

Yes, cd roms and hard drives run of SATA power cables.

Can You help me this to?
My PC is Q6600 2.4Ghz with 4GB RAM (4x1 - 800Mhz) - Geforce 8800GTX and nVidia 680i chipset.

A friend told me that I can´t install Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit with 4GB RAM. I will get a BSD.
But if I removed 2GB RAM, then I can install a 64bit version.

Is that true? If yes, why?

Yes this seems to be the rule rather than the exception. You also need to ensure you have all the hotfixes..might want to peruse the Software/Vista board for further info..

Ok, I´l try to install Vista Ult. 64bit with only 2GB RAM. I gues that I can put back the two extra GB RAM after installation, or what?

If it wont work, I will stay on Ultimate 32bit.  ;o))

Thanks to you all for helping me and merry christmas and happy new year.
