Alienware 15 (2015) and Oculus Rift CV1

Hi, I have an Alienware 15 (2015) laptop with the following specs -

Intel Core-i5 4210 CPU, 16GB of RAM, combo 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD and an Nvidia GeForce 970M GPU

Can some one please tell me if the Oculus Rift CV1 will work with my laptop if it is connected with a Graphics Amplifier and a Nvidia GTX 1070 Graphic Card.

Appreciate your help.

Yes, plug the Rift into the 1070.

Enjoy.

Are you sure. even though my CPU is i4210u and the recommended CPU for Oculus is i4590?

I wanna make sure before I invest approx $1500 on the Oculus, Graphics Amplifier and the GTX 1070

That could be an issue...  Unfortunately you can't upgrade the CPU in a 15.  So, you could try it with that processor or buy a an X51 or another product from AW/other manufacture.  Keep in mind that the Graphics Amp will work with other AW products.  So if it doesn't work out you could potentially buy another laptop or another product for the AGA and use it on that. If you do that then don't get a 'good GPU' in the laptop/other AW product.

Let me know how it goes or what you decide.

I made a mistake earlier, my alienware is an i7 4710HQ, is that powerful enough to run the Oculus along with the Graphics Amplifier?
