現象

The display panel turns into a black screen and unable to recover after end user unplugs the USB-C (Type-C) dongle when the computer is idling in the computers BIOS menu.

  • A black screen occurred after end user closes and reopens the lid while in the BIOS

解決方法

To work around the issue, force a restart of the computer by pressing and holding the Power Button for up to 20 seconds.
Updating the latest BIOS on the computer helps fix the black screen on the XPS 13 9300.

To download and install the latest BIOS:

Warning:
  • Dell Technologies recommends disconnecting any devices like external hard disk drives, printers, and scanners before updating the BIOS.
  • Dell laptops must have the battery installed and charged to at least 10% before you begin the BIOS update. Dell Technologies recommends connecting the laptop to AC power before proceeding with the update process.

  1. Browse to the Dell Drivers & Downloads for XPS 13 9300.
  2. Select the Operating System.
  3. Under Category, select BIOS.
  4. Locate the latest System BIOS.
  5. Click Download and save the file to your computer.
  6. Open File Explorer and browse to the location where the downloaded file is saved.
  7. Double-click the BIOS setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
