How to use Secure Self-Service File Delivery (SSFD)

SSFD is the enterprise file transfer service that replaces the File Exchanger, which enables the safe data transfer between customer and Dell.

File Upload

Dell Technical Support issues your account.
Once the account is issued, you receive two emails with the title "New Message: SRxxxxxx…" and "Enrollment Notification."

How to upload files

1. Access to the SSFD.

2. Log in with the credentials on the Enrollment Notification email.
   

   If this is your first time to log in, change the password on the Change Password box and click Set Password.

    

   Set a password of at least eight characters with four letters (including upper/lowercase), three numbers, and one symbol.

    

   

3. Click Browse and select a file to be uploaded.

4. Click Upload File.

    

   The log is saved in ASCII as default. Click Set ASCII to change to Binary as you need.

Upload a file larger than 100MB

If you upload a file larger than 100MB, you must use SFTP client (WinSCP so on) to upload.
Install an SFTP client free software as needed.

The following is the example settings on the WinSCP.

• Transfer Protocol: SFTP
• Host Name: ssfd.dell.com
• User Name: Your email address
• Password: Optional (Password set at the first login)

Additional Information

• If you want to delete an uploaded file, click the icon on the File Option column for that file then click the file name link on the Delete field.
  
• In case the file uploading process failed, try to use SFTP client even if the file is less than 100MB.
