Symptoms

De vingerafdruklezer of -sensor werkt mogelijk niet goed of er wordt een foutmelding weergegeven op het aanmeldingsscherm. Het probleem doet zich voor na een Windows Update.

Betreffende platforms:

  • Latitude 3000 serie
  • Latitude 5000 serie
  • Latitude 7000 serie
  • Latitude 9000 serie
  • Precision Laptops
Opmerking: Alleen laptops met geïnstalleerde vingerafdruklezers worden hierdoor getroffen.

Cause

Broadcom heeft de huidige versies van de ControlVault driver toegevoegd aan de Windows Update-catalogus. Die pakketinstallatieprogramma's bevatten een digitale handtekening die op 26 september verliep, waardoor het pakket onvolledig werd geïnstalleerd.

Resolution

Getroffen ControlVault-driver is gedegradeerd uit de Windows Update-catalogus.

  1. Download de nieuwste Dell ControlVault driver en firmware van de pagina Dell drivers en downloads.
    • Voor de Latitude 5x50, 5440, 7x50, 9450 2-in-1 en Precision 3480, 3x90, 3x91 en 5x90:
      • Download de nieuwste driver en firmware voor Dell ControlVault3 (6.0.47.93 of hoger).
    • Voor alle andere Latitude en Precision laptops (zie het gedeelte Compatibele systemen op de driverpagina):
      • Download de nieuwste driver en firmware voor Dell ControlVault3 (5.14.15.22 of hoger).
  2. Volg de instructies van het installatieprogramma om de driver te installeren. Als u de firmware wilt downloaden en installeren, raadpleegt u Dell drivers downloaden en installeren.
  3. Start de computer opnieuw op om de wijzigingen toe te passen. Kijk of het probleem is opgelost.
