Anyone owning a computer running the Windows 10 or Windows 11 22H1 operating system (or older) may find that Windows Hello facial recognition is not working. The following error message is seen in the settings under Sign-in options if you use a MIPI camera:
We couldn't find a camera compatible with Windows Hello Face
These versions of the Windows operating system do not support (Enhanced Sign-In Security) ESS on a MIPI Camera. The ESS in these versions of Windows only supports a USB connected Infrared (IR) camera.

You can resolve this error by updating your computers operating system to Windows 11 (22H2) or newer. Windows Hello facial recognition works with a MIPI camera because ESS is now enabled by default in the most recent versions of Windows.
