This article applies to   This article does not apply to

Symptoms

NVMe SSD drives can have increased wear levels.

Cause

Dell Technologies has identified a rare condition that can occur on systems running PowerStore 3.0.0.x code. This condition can be introduced through the following events:

  • Running a PowerStore Array for a significant amount of time on any 3.0.0.x releases

Over a long duration this can impact the usable life of a subset of drives.  If a system continues to run on version 3.0.0.x code a data impactful event may occur.

Resolution

To prevent any risk of this issue, we recommend you upgrade to the PowerStoreOS 3.5.0.2 or later code immediately.

If your PowerStore cluster is on 3.0.0.x code, and are unable to update to 3.5.0.2 (or higher) you are advised to contact Dell Technical Support for review and potential remediation.
