Some users have noted that using a single U3415W curved display may not display video out of the box. It has been determined that these systems display video when the DisplayPort input of the U3415W is set to DisplayPort 1.1.
Workaround:
We must set the U3415W to DP1.1 mode for single monitor operation.
To switch monitor to DP1.1:
If you can see video, go to the monitor On-Screen Display (OSD) menu using the monitor menu buttons and change the DisplayPort 1.2 option to Disabled (Figure 1).

If you are unable to see any video, unplug all video cables from the display and perform the following steps using the monitor menu buttons (Figure 2):

If this does not resolve the issue, update the firmware of the Dell monitor. To learn more, see the Dell knowledge-base article Steps for Updating the Firmware for Your Dell Monitor.
The U3415W display has a curved screen providing optimal viewing position from the center of the screen. When testing a display for light leakage, this should be done in normal ambient lighting, this issue should not be inspected in a dark room.
Due to the screen curvature, some corners of the screen may appear to have minimal light leakage, especially when displaying a dark image in a dark room. This is normal monitor behavior for a curved screen and typically does not affect overall viewing performance (Figure 3).

All U3415W monitors are inspected per the industry standard, which is with 150 lux ambient lighting (similar to typical office lighting). Any visual inspection should be done in the same manner.
The U3415W display has a curved screen, because of this design, the optimal viewing position should be from the center of the screen.
Due to the screen curvature, some corners of the screen may appear yellowish or pinkish, especially when displaying a dark image in a dark room. This is normal monitor behavior for a curved screen and typically does not affect overall viewing performance.
Turn on Uniformity Compensation:
The U3415W may experience a slight Image Retention when a static image is displayed on the screen over extended periods of time. This is normal In Plane Switching (IPS)/ Place to Line Switching (PLS) panel behavior.
Do one or more of the following:
The U3415W is factory tuned to provide the best viewing performance for office and graphics productivity usage. Due to this preset configuration, in certain applications with fast moving images (such as fast moving games), imaging ghosting, which appears as a trailing shadow, may occur (Figure 4).

Change the Response Time:
The Monitor Power LED is On, but there is no image on the screen. The display gives a on screen error message that may say that "No XX Cable detected" (Figure 5)

Follow the following troubleshooting steps:
Ensure that the Power LED is ON, but No Video from the screen.
To switch monitor to DP1.1:
If you can see video, go to the monitor On-Screen Display (OSD) menu using the monitor menu buttons and change the DisplayPort 1.2 option to Disabled (Figure 6).

If you are unable to see any video, unplug all video cables from the display and perform the following steps using the monitor menu buttons (Figure 7):
