Note: Be aware that using a large Phillips or Flat Head screwdriver may result in damage to the head of the screws. This would make their removal impossible without specialty tools that are not available to our onsite engineers.

 

  1. Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Cover:

    1. During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

  2. Looking at the rear of your computer, loosen the thumbscrew that secures the cover to the chassis.

Door 1

  1. Push the cover towards the front of the computer. Lift the access panel away when the securing lugs are released.

Door 2

 

  1. Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Hard Disk Drive (hard drive):

    1. During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Remove the System Cover.

  2. This computer can fit a single 2½" hard drive in the front left-hand side corner of the computer. Press the blue tabs toward the drive and pull the bracket towards you.

HDD 1

  1. Lift the blue bracket up and out of the computer.

HDD 2

  1. Pop the two securing grommets on one side of the blue bracket away from the drive, the drive then should pull loose of the other side.

HDD 3

 

  1. Pre-Removal instructions before removing the solid state drive (SSD):

    1. During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Remove the System Cover, and Drive Assembly.

The M.2 2230 PCIe SSD:

  1. You can find the slot for the M.2 along the left-hand edge of the computer under the drive assembly. Remove the single screw securing the card to the motherboard.

SSD 1

  1. The end of the card lifts up, grip it and pull it out of the connector and the computer.

The M.2 2280 PCIe SSD:

  1. You can find the slot for the M.2 under the drive bracket along the left-hand side of the computer. Remove the single screw securing the card to the motherboard.

SSD 2

  1. The end of the card lifts up, grip it and pull it out of the connector and the computer.

 

  1. Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Fan Assembly:

    1. During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Remove the System Cover.

  2. The fan cable runs along the right-hand side of the chassis. Unroute the fan cable and press the blue tabs towards each other.

Fan 1

  1. Turn the fan assembly over and disconnect the fan cable, before lifting away from the computer.

Fan 2

 

  1. Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Memory:

    1. During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Remove the System Cover, and Fan Assembly.

  2. The Memory slots are located underneath the fan assembly. Pull the securing clips on either side of the DIMM away from the DIMM to see it lift up out of the slot.

Memory 1

  1. Pull the Memory DIMM out of the slot and the chassis.

Note: Repeat these steps for however many additional Memory Dual Inline memory modules (DIMMs) are located in the computer.

 

  1. Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Coin Cell Battery:

    1. During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Remove the System Cover.

  2. The coin-cell Battery is located in the rear left-hand side corner of the computer. Using a plastic scribe or similar tool, pry back the latch and releasing the Battery.

Coin 1

  1. Lift the Battery up and out of the connector.

 

  1. Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Internal Speaker:

    1. During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Remove the System Cover, and Fan Assembly.

  2. The speaker is located at the front of the computer. Disconnect the speaker cable from the motherboard.

Speaker 1

  1. Pull the tab on the rear of the speaker assembly and lift it out of the chassis.

 

  1. Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Wi-Fi, Wireless Local Are Network (WLAN) Card:

    1. During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Remove the System Cover, and Drive Assembly.

  2. The Wireless card slot is located in the front left-hand side corner of the computer under the drive bracket. Remove the single screw locking down the antenna bracket.

WiFi 1

  1. Disconnect the WiFi antenna cables from the card. (The connector is a press stud and should pop off the card when you apply a little pressure.)

WiFi 2

  1. Pull the card out of the slot and the computer.
