Cause

With current IDPA ACM DNS client module - dnsjava (v2.4 or earlier), it sends DNS "ANY" query to DNS server for reverse lookup. Most DNS servers can respond "ANY" query properly, but for DNS servers that are not be able to process "ANY" query, reverse lookup fails.

Resolution

This issue is permanently addressed in IDPA 2.6.0 and later.

If IDPA/PowerProtect DP Series is running at 2.4, v2.4.1, or v2.5 or earlier, there are two workarounds:       
  • Try a different DNS Server that supports "ANY" type of DNS query.
  • Create a technical support ticket for assistance.
