Symptoms
The NetWorker VMware Protection integration is configured with the vProxy Appliance. The backups workflow fails to create the virtual machine (VM) snapshot with an Operation timed out message. The vProxy backup workflow shows the operation timed out after approximately 15 minutes:

Cause
The backups workflow requests the VMware snapshot creation at the start of a backup, then requests the removal at the end of the backup workflow. The operations are requested via vCenter API requests and the creation, management, deletion of VM snapshots are handled through VMware.
Resolution
The VM snapshot request duration needs to be investigated at the VM level. If required contact VMware support for further assistance with the VM snapshot time out.
