These guides will take you step-by-step through the safe removal of what are considered to be the CRU (Customer Replaceable Unit) parts of the OptiPlex 3080 Mini Tower (MT). (CRUs are the parts of the system that should not need an engineer to remove or replace.) The guide includes pictures referencing what is involved.

Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Side Cover:
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Put the system on its side with the access panel facing up, and loosen the two (2) captive screws on the back of the system [1].
Slide the side cover towards the rear of the computer and lift the cover away from the computer.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Front Bezel:
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover.
Establishing image.
Pry the retention tabs [1] to release the front bezel from the computer.
Pull the front bezel slightly and then gently rotate [2] to release other tabs.
Remove the front bezel from the computer.

During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover.
Establishing image.
Press the retention tabs [1] on both sides of the fan duct to release it.
Carefully pull and remove the fan duct from the computer.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the 2.5-inch Hard Disk Drive (HDD):
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover and Fan Duct.
Disconnect the hard-drive data and power cables [1] from the connectors on the 2.5-inch hard-disk drive module.
Press the release tabs [2] on both the sides of the hard-disk drive bracket to release it from the slots on the computer chassis.
Tilt the hard-disk [3] drive assembly slightly at an angle.
Lift the hard-disk drive assembly [4] from the computer.
Remove the two (M3x3.5) screws that secure the first hard-disk drive to the hard-drive metal bracket.
Slide and lift the hard drive from the hard-drive metal bracket.
Remove the two (M3x3.5) screws that secure the second hard drive to the hard-disk drive metal bracket.
Slide and lift the second hard-disk drive from the hard-disk drive metal bracket.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the 3.5-inch Hard Disk Drive (HDD):
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover.
Disconnect the data and power cables from the 3 .5-inch hard drive.
Remove the four (#6-32) screws from the front-side of the chassis that secures the hard drive to the chassis.
Remove the 3.5 inch hard drive away from the chassis.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the M.2 2230 PCIe solid-state drive (SSD):
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover and Fan Duct.
Remove the screw (M2x3.5) that secures the solid-state drive to the system board.
Slide and lift the solid-state drive off the system board.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Memory:
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover and Fan Duct.
Establishing image.
Pull the securing clips from both side of the memory module until the memory module pops up.
Slide and remove the memory module from the memory-module slot.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Processor Fan and Heat-sink Assembly:
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover and Fan Duct.
Establishing image.
Disconnect the processor fan cable from the connector on the system board.
Loosen the four captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat-sink assembly to the system board.
Lift the processor fan and heat-sink assembly off the system board.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Powered GPU:
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover and Fan Duct.
Establishing image.
Disconnect the two power cables from the connectors on the powered GPU.
Lift the pull tab to open the PCIe door.
Push and hold the securing tab on the graphics-card slot and lift the powered GPU away from the graphics-card slot.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Coin Cell Battery:
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover.
Remove the Powered GPU if the system is configured with Powered GPU.
Establishing image.
Using a plastic scribe, gently pry the coin-cell battery out of the slot on the system board.
Remove the coin-cell battery away from the computer.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Internal Speakers:
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover.
Establishing image.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the connector on the system board.
Unroute the speaker cable from the routing guides on the chassis.
Press the tab and slide the speaker along with the cable from the slot on the chassis.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Slim-optical Disc Drive:
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover.
Disconnect the data and power cables from the slim ODD.
Pull the securing tab to release the slim ODD from the chassis.
Slide and remove the slim ODD from the ODD slot.
Pry the slim-ODD bracket to release it from the slot on the ODD.
Remove the slim-ODD bracket off the ODD.
Pre-Removal instructions before removing the Power Supply Unit (PSU):
During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Remove the Side Cover.
Establishing image.
Disconnect the power cables from the system board and unroute them from the routing guides on the chassis.
Remove the three (#6-32) screws that secure the power-supply unit to the chassis.
Press the securing clip and slide the power-supply unit away from the back of the chassis.
Lift the power-supply unit off the chassis.
