Why is the volume low in my WinDVD Player? - Technical Tip - 163787

Download and install file ivivlmfx.exe.

Download and install file ivivlmfx.exe from the Dell File Library.

1. Browse to https://support.dell.com.
2. Click the link for Downloads.
3. Search by the exact filename for ivivlmfx.exe.
   
   NOTE: For more information about searching for and downloading files from Dell, click the Help link.
   
   
   
4. When the File Download window appears, click Save this program to disk and click OK.
   The Save As window appears.
5. In the Save in: list, click 3 ½ Floppy (A:), and then click Save.
   The file will download to floppy disk.
6. Click the Start button, click Run, and then type a:\ivivlmfx in the Open box. Click OK.
   An MS-DOS window appears and 3 files extract to the floppy disk.
7. Click the X in the upper right hand corner to close the MS-DOS window.
8. Click the Start button, click Run, and then type a:\vlm_up.reg in the Open box. Click OK.
   The Registry Editor window appears.
9. Click Yes to add the information to the registry.
   The Registry Editor window appears.
10. Click OK.

Why is the volume low in my WinDVD™ Player?

The sound in the WinDVD Player may be extremely low, especially on voices, while all other sounds on the system are fine.
