How to Enable Remote Database Access to Dell Security Management Server Virtual

The process to enable remote database access changes depending on if you are using Dell Security Management Server Virtual v9.11.0 and Later or v8.0.0 to 9.10.0. v9.11.0 and Later

  1. Log in to the Dell Security Management Server Virtual administration console using the default administrator credentials.

    Note:
    • The default credentials for Dell Security Management Server Virtual are:
      • Username: delluser
      • Password: delluser
    • An administrator can change the default password within the product’s virtual appliance menu.
  2. On the Main Menu, select Advanced Configuration and then press Enter.

  3. Select Database Access and then press Enter.

  4. From the Database Access menu:
    1. Select either Enable Remote Access (IPv4) or Enable Remote Access (IPv6).
    2. Optionally, populate a Password.
    3. Select OK.
    4. Press Enter.

Note: The default credentials for Dell Security Management Server Virtual are:
  • Username: ddp_admin
  • Password: ddp_admin

v8.0.0 to 9.10.0

  1. Log in to the Dell Security Management Server Virtual administration console using the default administrator credentials.

      • Username: ddpuser
      • Password: ddpuser
    • An administrator can change the default password within the product’s virtual appliance menu.
  2. On the Main Menu, select Advanced Configuration and then press Enter.

  3. Select Database Remote Access and then press Enter.

    • Optionally, the password may be changed from Database Password.
    • The default credentials for Dell Security Management Server Virtual are:
      • Username: ddp_admin
      • Password: ddp_admin
  4. Select Enable Database Remote Access, select OK, and then press Enter.
