PowerStore: Clusters that have SAS Expansion Enclosures may experience unexpected node reboots when running PowerStoreOS versions 3.0 to 3.5

Symptoms

The PowerStore nodes may unexpectedly reboot if these conditions are met:
  • The cluster is on PowerStoreOS version 3.0.x, 3.2.x, or 3.5.x.
  • There are one or more SAS expansion enclosures attached to any of the appliances in the cluster.

Cause

The SAS drivers may time out due to a lock issue on the SAS controller.
This in turn causes a node unexpected reboot.

Resolution

The issue is resolved in PowerStoreOS version 3.6 and above.
